"For Fun": Trailers and Tributes

Every now and again I like to extend my post-production capabilities into the realm of my other life interests: movies, video games, etc.
Typically this is expressed in the form of a quick trailer or mashup - occasionally a tribute. I find it helps me stay flexible and creative in my editing; it gives me the chance to flex my narrative capabilities by telling a story solely through editing and music. So that's what you'll find here: good old fashion trailers and tributes for the things I love. Give 'em a watch if you like. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Or maybe you will. It's possible we don't even share the same interests. What do I know?

Star Wars: Prequel Trilogy (The Force Awakens Mash-up)

This is a trailer that I cut together using the music from the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The goal I set for myself was to create a trailer that showed that the Prequels could be just as compelling as the other films in the saga. I’m incredibly proud of it and hope it’s successful in highlighting what I feel were the best parts of the Prequel Trilogy.
And to any editing enthusiasts, I recreated the sound effect tracks from scratch for all the blasters, sabers, ships, explosions, and ambience noises. Literally every piece of audio was painstakingly placed by hand into the timeline and then mixed. It was crazy - but well-worth what it brought to the trailer.
